I don't think i'd buy a car that had them as standard because the look crap. Unless you can get ones which aren't visible now. I'm sure you could park a car anyway, especially if it was a hatchback.

Hitting a bollard looks worse.

I'm actually pretty good at parallel parking (city living), but have you seen a repair bill for a piece of plastic these days? Seriously, a ****ing wing mirror is about £400 if it folds electrically.
