So even the people who travel half-way across the world to spend a few hours per day attending a sporting event can't find the time to visit London's historical attractions? That doesn't bode well for London.

I also think perhaps last year's riots and the humiliating inability to contain them are confining many visitors to their hotels.

I guess if it had been America the cops would have gone in guns blazing (quite literally probably). It's not so easy to control that kind of disorder when it's popping up randomly in lots of different places.

Also, the riots never affected anywhere a tourist might venture.
