who told him about machines in the future, that inspired him to create his inventions almost a millennium ago ?

just watched something on the American version of the History channel.

I think its utter shite, but he did envision a lot of inventions we have today.

I suppose the same goes for Nostradamus, good guesses or is it that were fitting (both leo's and nostro's) today's events and their visions.
