I have a feeling this has something to do with the movie... Was he trying to be Bane? Or a a city terrorizer?

That's what sprang into my head. He wanted to become his own villain.

Do you think there might be a time in the non too distant future where we have to go through security x-rays and body scanners to get into any kind of public venue? Or is that just pointless because there would be just more shootings in the street.
