Currently nothing really. Back in the day, when the current generation of designers were learning their craft Adobe Photoshop was miles better on the Mac.
Designers loved the platform back then because the PowerPC architecture at the time was superior, performance wise, with applications that supported SIMD thanks to the AltiVec instruction set. Many SIMD supporting apps were multimedia applications. I mean changing the brightness in photoshop was improved by the SIMD instruction set from AltiVec on a PowerPC chip.

Problem is this previous history has stuck with Apple and now that they are on x86 that edge is gone. Now it is really based on preference and if your app only supports OSX or windows.
