The other day several people were ridiculed for not being able to separate an actors real-life from their film and TV roles, and now everyone is saying that Tom Cruise, the actor, is too short to play a make believe character.

I LOVE FM!!

People have a problem separating books from film, and think that the film should be an exact representation of the book.

I think that they are two completely different entities and a film can basically take the story wherever it wants.

Also, some films aim to realistically represent the written material in film while others just use the core story and nothing else.

That's fine with me.
