There's a difference between letting people invade my privacy on the lawless interwebs and the government making laws that force people to invade my privacy. But in the event I do want to cover my tracks then I'll take steps to ensure I don't leave a trail on the internet.
Yes there is a difference, but the interwebs is still and should be a much larger concern. Fix that and just don't buy a car post 2015. If there is a law against disabling it, just make it look like a malfuction.

Plus, even if this law doesn't pass, I wouldn't be surprised if corporations put these in volunteeringly. Maybe have it as a "safety" feature. I think some cars already come with a "black" box.
