I hope he's got a good oiling setup - there's a fair bit of discussion here about bearing issues with the LS7 'spec' engine for one of the classes. !.5 G is like tilting the engine over 56 degrees and 2 G is like 63 degrees!
We suspect the stock LS7 dry sump isn't scavenging properly due to oil collecting in the outer head and cylinder bock, but not confirmed yet - I've suggested building a tiltable engine test stand and checking how the dry sump tank level is affected. There's one particular long sweeping right on a local track, that I think I mentioned before, that's already claimed a number of engines in other vehicles due to oil surge
