Think about the hops.

PC, to wifi to cell to cell tower to backbone. You're going to get variability in that continuously - from what I can tell, pings on 4g are usually 30 - 70 msecs... my wifi is usually 22 - 30 msecs and when on wired, I can get 15 - 20 msecs.

Maybe some people can test and report back.

Sitting on the beach with 70 ping playing a PC game doesn't sound too bad to me.
