I would say France gave the world the United States.

The British gave us the most brutal and tyrannical empire to have ever existed and raped the face of this world.

I am sure if we looked hard enough, we could all find atrocities in our histories. Like the fact that the barbaric way many African's treat each other in wars now (the way people mutilate each other etc) was actually 'taught' to them by the French.
