I would say France gave the world the United States.

The British gave us the most brutal and tyrannical empire to have ever existed and raped the face of this world.

They also educated and helped bring half the world in to the modern age with their science and technology.

I'm aware of the recent oil dispute. But Argentina's claim to the Malvinas have existed long before that. Given their history, Argentina, and many South American nations, are extremely sensitive regarding issues of national territory.

That may be the case, that still does not hide the fact that it really is about oil this time.
