LCD also does not have anywhere near the response time of an OLED.

You can tell the difference in response time just browsing through the app drawer between oled and LCD.

Also the black levels on OLED are just amazing, I like not being able to see the difference between black on the screen and the black on the bezel of my phone.

I changed from the Galaxy S2 to the Galaxy Nexus myself and that was not supposed to be a large upgrade in screen tech AFAIK, but the screen seems a LOT better to me. It must be the increased PPI?

And yes, OLED uses much less power than LCD. Also the new arrangement (less amount of red) will supposedly make it use less power.

------

Ok now the GPU and CPU in the S3 use much less power according to here: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Exyno...axy-S3_id29615

Around 46% less for 3D and 36% less on CPU usage compared to last generation (not sure on tegra 3's power saving or the S4's, but it seems good enough)

Not only that, it has a larger battery than most phones:

Galaxy S3: 2100mah
iPhone 4s: 1420mah
One X: 1800mah
Lumia 900: 1840mah

Also the S3's battery is removable, the others are not.

So it all things considered it looks to have awesome battery life.

Ok not only does it use less power than previous 45nm phones but...

Samsung already has that, but I forget the name. Basically Android (Galaxy Ace/S-ish) without a modem.
The Galaxy Player. Archos do some android PMP's too, as do a few others.
