Last I heard, china is massively increasing their naval fleet. Whadayathink they plan on doing with it?

Yeah, it's blue water.. Not coastal defense.

And there's only one thing you do with a blue water navy, project force abroad.

Some of that could have legitimate, defensive aims.. But that's what you do with it.
