You're missing the point. When you get your entire check from taxes, having some deducted isn't really paying taxes. It's like taking water from one end of the pool and pouring it in the other end. You aren't adding any water, just moving it around.

so the construction contractor that builds the peir for a dock for the Navy doesnt pay any taxes?
