We Did ’Build That,’ and Our Government Helped

By Jonathan Alter

...the transcontinental railroad; the land-grant colleges; the Interstate Highway System; the Internet and other government-backed transportation, communications and education endeavors aren’t just examples of “government spending” long supported by both parties. They have proved essential to the creation of thousands of small enterprises.

I've never seen so much liberal pants shitting in my life ..

Government didn't do jack crap, Johnathon..

Every Teacher hired, bridge built, bomb dropped, etc, etc, etc.. Is the result of tax revenue which is collected from productive Americans.. That revenue is a result of commerce. Commerce is business.

So, yes.. Businesses built everything. Without it, there wouldn't be a dime for you vultures to fight over.

Now please shut up.. Fuck all, there's nothing worse than liberals that just keep going on and on and on, trying to explain their errors away.

The President said something stupid. Deal with it.
Right, governments can't do things, because some Nazi wants to make a stupid point! Governments, businesses and people are all powerful things and to deny it is just being stupid. Many businesses require a skilled and trained labor force to function effectively and if the people working for that business decide to leave it in mass, the business can't replace those workers quickly enough. That doesn't mean businesses are weak, it just means everything is part of the whole. Governments are very powerful in setting economic direction. Consider the Louisiana Purchase!

Most people don't know the full story. The fact is we were just trying to buy New Orleans, because we needed control of the port. France gave their North American territory to Spain in 1762 and Spain gave it back around 1800. The future President James Monroe was sent to France to negotiate the purchase of New Orleans. There was a slave revolt in Haiti and France was at war in Europe. Napoleon Bonaparte had his own priorities for his government and offered to sell the whole territory, which doubled the size of the United States. President Thomas Jefferson jumped on the deal and admitted he didn't think a President had constitutional authority to make such a transaction. He didn't have much choice, because the deal was too good to pass up.

This common day, right-wing notion that government isn't important is nonsense. Government is nothing when you right-wing idiots control it. It's all part of your Nazi, John Bircher, Koch Bros., bullshit propaganda. Everything is important, including people and one day the people are going to collect your kind in jars filled with Formaldehyde, so we have a specimen of what an idiot looks like and put it next to the dog faced boy.
