I've actually met Balls and his wife.

I was left with the distinct impression that, left to their own devices, they'd get lost in their own home.

Blind leading the blind, and quite similar to American politicians. They're out for themselves, and no one else when it gets down to it constituents being a word they no longer have in their selective vocabulary.
