Reason TV interview with Senator Tom Coburn.

I started this with very high hopes and ended up disappointed.. It quickly becomes obvious that Coburn is enthralled with all the wonderful things government can do for us..

He's allegedly one of the "Conservatives" but he talks like a big government liberal through about half of this vid. It's clear that, while he's more level headed than many other members of congress, that he's just as big on far reaching government power as the rest of them.. He opposes foreign meddling, but he really doesn't. He opposes breaching the Constitution, but he'd use the commerce clause to do it. He's concerned about the security state and the money that's handed off to defense contractors, but he has little problem with big ticket items and sprawling Homeland Security apparatus.. It's just a mess. If this is a pristine example of what it means to be a "Conservative" in Washington today, we're truly screwed.
