Think about it this way..

The democrats have made so much steady progress for their base, that they do what?

They FUCKING LIE THEIR ASSES OFF TO THE ENTIRE COUNTRY EVERY ELECTION..

They do!

Hillary, of Brady Bill fame: "I won't take your guns!" Obama? "DITTO!!"

Marriage is between a man and a woman! I'll cut the deficit in half! The era of big government is over!!! on and on.. And it's all pure bullshit.

But their base doesn't abandon them, do they? Why not? Because, after decades of slow, steady progress, they trust them! Even when they call their own base stupid and say things their base doesn't agree with.. Their base trusts them implicitly and knows they are lying to America to get elected.

Contrast that with the Republican party? The Republicans have to lie to their base as a matter of course.. They have to claim to be Conservative, and the base doubts them.. They claim to support the Constitution and their base rolls their eyes.

That's because they've made no progress.. They've spent all their time compromising and selling out.

They have no political capital left with the base of their own party.. Because they haven't done anything to roll back the size or scope of the Federal Government in decades.

That's the problem with the Republicans.. No progress.
