I'm speaking specifically about the USA, in 2012, with the thread title. Unless we return to constitutional states' rights, we have absolutely no chance at liberty.

We probably need to go a hell of a lot farther than that.

The President should be about as important and recognizable to us as the secretary-general of the UN is.

It should be a mostly honorary position, with very little power attached to it.
