FUNCTIONING OF A REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC, OF ANY GEOGRAPHIC SIZE,

AND OF ANY POPULATION..... AT HAND,

IN PLACE, AND READY TO USE.

WITNESS THE EASE WITH WHICH YOU AND I COMMUNICATE

ACROSS 1500 MILES... IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN THE FOUNDERS MONTHS TO

TRAVERSE THAT DISTANCE.... AND GREAT RISK.

A MORE NUMEROUS FREE POPULATION IS INHERENTLY

STRONGER THAN A SMALLER ONE.

I agree, that a union of states actually preserves liberty, but those states themselves must be free, for the most part, from interference.

Power should wane as you move farther and farther out from the individual.
