I'm for the privatizing of most public services. Many of the largest cities lease out their parks and park services to private companies and these are the cleanest, nicest parks in their entire city. Same with prisons. many states have privatized their prisons and they are the best ran prisons in their system. It's commonly known that when there is ownership, there is pride of ownership and things are taken care of.. . not so when there is no ownership. Just go in to any park bathroom. If it's dirty, covered in graffiti, stinks and in disrepair-- its a public bathroom ran by the city. Coincidentally, make public services accountable and linked to performance based compensation (get rid of the unions) and that same pride of ownership takes over... at least that's what I have observed.
