If politicians don't really write the laws, then there is no point in voting them in/out, is there?

If laws are essentially written by outside parties, then manipulating those parties would be a better course of action, no?

Pols write the laws. But they are often influenced by the public, whether individually or in groups.
Are you suggesting the pols ignore all public groups and write laws based on their own desires??
