It's a measure of influence.. There was an experiment at Harvard or somewhere, in which a couple of straight lines were drawn on a blackboard and the class was asked if the lines were straight or curved.. They got some professors to go first and claim they were curved.. and then the students answered curved as well. Even though they were straight.
