Default $1,000 Reward for Information in Death of Puppy
$1,000 Reward Offered For Information Leading to Arrest

On Tuesday, September 6, Humane Law Enforcement Officers from the Pennsylvania SPCA made a gruesome discovery in a lot in the 700 block of E. Westmoreland Street in Philadelphia (near the Ascension of Our Lord church) after receiving an anonymous tip. There, officers found the corpse of a five-month-old puppy encapsulated in duct tape.

Officers brought the deceased animal back to the Pennsylvania SPCA’s headquarters at 350 E. Erie Avenue where a necropsy was performed. Results showed that the pit bull-mix puppy had multiple health problems and suffered from a lack of medical care.

“This is a bizarre and extremely disturbing case of animal cruelty, and no animal should have to suffer this way,” said George Bengal, director of humane law enforcement for the Pennsylvania SPCA. The Pennsylvania SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to arrest of the individual(s) who perpetrated this act of animal cruelty. Anyone with information can call the Pennsylvania SPCAs hotline at 1-866-601-SPCA (7722).
