Legally, I have to agree with the appellate court's decision. The statute of limitations on his particular crime ran out. A legal technicality- he is still guilty on moral and ethical grounds.

I think he should have resigned when allegations came to light. I cannot imagine him returning as leader of the diocese. No mater what his legal status, I will not be able to get past his actions.
