Bringing in Khidr would not be the right choice. His clarifications are not so easy to understand. Look at how difficult it was for Musa (A great Messenger of Allah) to stay in his company. The Ummah is already divided on the status of Khidr ie whether he is a Prophet or not, is he still alive or not, etc.
why would it be difficult to understand? i have heard from ulama that khidr (as) sometimes appears to people who are lost and guides them the way. his directions are not difficult to understand. so why would anything else be? just because we have a story about khidr (as) teaching a lesson to musa (as) does not mean that his established behaviour is that of riddles and parables.

Secondly, how would one establish a Jinn to be from the Salaf, let alone as a Sahabi or a Tabi'i. Is a testimony of a Jinn valid for us Humans?

i dont know. i am only going by claims made by other people such as alims and scholars and hazrats, who claim that they are in contact with muslim jinns.
