Just around now a verdict on some parts of Gujrat riots of 2002 has come.
The Judge argued that she is not handing out capital punishment because world environment is turning against it and till last years 139 countries have abolished it. So she sent Maya Kodnani and Babu Bajrangi to life imprisonment only.
Point to notice here is that she has used a global perspective while delivering the judgement and thus we shall be justified in rejecting Norway is Norway and India is India argument - if some one brought that here.
To complete the circle - she ignored another news that has been in the air around these days.
Ajmal Amir Qasab, surviving accused of Mumbai November 26, 2008 attacks, was in news. His death penalty was confirmed by a higher court.
