How do you guys keep smart beards?

My beard is around 2cm in length. I have been told it is 'unkept'.

How should one maintain a beard?

use some good quality hair oil brother, it does wonders for the old beard.

i never believed it until i started doing it, trust me my beard looks way better than it did 1 and a half year ago, owing to the fact that i oil it regularly.

when im at home i oil it some what heavily sometimes, when i leave home for juma, taraweeh, or important events i oil it lightly, just because it looks thicker healthier.

oilingyour beard also softens the hair over time (one week and you should notice the difference) and allows you to comb it straighter.

and remember when your beard is still young it might look a little funny to some people and some adults may say it's unseemly etc. but whast does that matter the point is allah and his rasool desire it, and that's who your doing it for. if you're doing it for someone other than Allah, then sure you can trim shave it if they complain about it, but if your doing it for Allah why on earth should nyone else's opinion matter? so make an effort to groom it to the best of your ability, then put your trust in Allah, remember you are being tested by Allah. Rasool (saws) said that a time will come when holding ont he sunnah will be like holding on to hot coal we're in that time.
