As-salaamu 'Alaikum, I'm a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Philosophy, and minors in Arabic and Hispanic Studies. After much reflection and dua', I've decided to pursue a PhD in Islamic Studies, with the aim of representing Classical Islam in western Academia, inshallah. However, It is crucial that I first strengthen my Arabic abroad, and also study at least the basics of Islam with traditional scholars. With this in mind, I have planned for some time now to study Arabic in Jordan with the Qasid Institute; Alhamdulillah, as many of you know Qasid is an institute of high repute amongst both Muslims and Western academic circles. I have been planning to begin my studies this coming September, and have been working for over a year to help me meet this goal. However, due to family circumstances, I have had to use my savings for other expenses, and now find myself in need of financial support--and this is what Allah willed, Alhamdulillah! If i am to move forward with my plans, now is really the time to go abroad, and it would not be wise to delay my studies any longer. This is why I ask you to kindly assist me with what you can financially to help me meet my goal of comfortably traveling to Jordan to study Arabic at the end of this month. Though I would only stay for as long as financially possible, I would inshallah love to study for at least 6 months. A reasonable budget for 6 months, including tuition, room, and board, is $7000. Alhamdulillah, with working and with the help of my community, I have saved approximately $6000. I am so close to that $7000! I ask you, to please consider contributing whatever you can to help me, and I ask you to please keep me in your duas. I have set up a paypal account which can be easily and securely used to donate funds online, using the following link: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/websc...if%3ANonHosted Please feel free to pm me should you have any questions about myself, or my plans. Again, any contribution is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time! BarakAllahu feekum,
