walaikum as-salaam! Thank you for the suggestion! Alhamdulillah, I've read a lot about the institute--but I have so many friends who have been to Qasid, and those first-hand narrations have really sold me. Also, I'm all set to go to Qasid for a 3-month semester, deposit paid, and nun-refundable ticket purchased. My goal is to fundraise to stay longer than that, but now I am seriously considering perhaps shifting institutes (perhaps to nadwah!) after those three months (based on finances). Is Nadwah truly suitable for the American lifestyle? I promise I don't ask because I am high-maintenance, but rather because I'm afraid of having to spend too much time "adapting", as opposed to learning. 6 months (maybe three if I got to Qasid first) is just not that long, so going to a place with higher risk of getting sick, or any serious adaptations that distract from studies seems unwise. Nowhere else America, I'm sure, but of course some places take more out of the American than others--that is precisely why I'm not going to Mauritania (yet! inshallah in the future!) for just 6 months, despite all the good we it has to offer
