The result of the sacrifice of the Ulamah e Deoband has Allahumma barik fihee has kept Deen alive in India. Not a single madrasah, forget a madrasah, even in a maktab you won't find the Hafith saheb without Sunnah's [Sunnah beard, kurta etc] - and this is true about even the barelvis - but I don't know much about the La Madhabis. But in Al-Azhar, there are scholars who come in shirts and trousers? Scholars? Indians would look you up and down if you tell them you are a Hafith and you want to teach Quran for their kids, and then they wouldn't look at you again. That's why you know brother, India is a special case, and with regards to people not speaking Arabic, India is home to 250-300 million Muslims, so one would hardly notice. And with regards to the quality of Arabic taught and spoken in top Indian Madaaris like Deoband, Mazahir, Shahi, Nadwah and Dabhel - They are as good or even better than any madrasah in Arabistan, and Arabic in Nadwah is brilliant. I know most of this because my own brother has formally graduated from Deoband in Ifta and also from his circle of friends who are Scholars themselves - one among them topped his class of 700 in Arabic.
