As far as I know you can keep a dog for guarding purposes. However depending on where you live and your house type, you will have to keep it outdoors, and make sure it does not disturb any close neighbours. You therefore need to give it somewhere reasonably comfortable outdoors a decent kennel or shed, and you will also need to give it plenty of exercise running around freely somewhere, not just kept in a small yard for days and days.
Yes i know how to take care of dogs, plenty of research and i have kept pets all my life lol

When a hunting dog brings back the dead animal, it is thoroughly cleaned before it is eaten. In some cultures abandoned dogs can run wild and be a nuisance, they can spread disease, and this may explain why they are disliked.
Surely if 'all dogs carry rabies' it will infect the hunted prey thus contaminating it and passing it onto who ever eats it, rabies is difficult to remove. So even if it is thoroughly clean technically the disease will still be there.

@abdul12345 Fatwa shopping? As in asking various scholars a question until i hear an answer i like?? Erm no, i have no intention of using a dog for hunting i am just curious why there are so many contra-dictory answers everywhere. The answers i was looking for regarding the general keeping of a dog i have already got.

This matter is just too confusing, how do you know who to believe? I am so confused :/
