Could someone explain this joke to me please?
(He) fell from heaven, got stuck on a date?

Anyway, Subhanallah. It is only through actions such as made by this brother that my own ancestors became muslim. Who knew what trials and tribulations they went through before they found Allah swt. Inshallah may he be a good pious muslim and spread the deen of islam further to his family and beyond.

What you have provided is a literal translation of a famous Hindi/Urdu proverb. English equivalent of the proverb is - 'Out of the frying pen, into the fire'

But in brother's case, it's reversal of the proverb. By accepting Islam, he has escaped a bigger problem i.e fire (hell fire), but he has got himself into another problem i.e Barelwi menace. Hence, out of the fire, he is now on the frying pan.

P.S - Explanation of the joke ended in the first paragraph. Second part is just my observation.
