This thread brings back fond memories of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah. When I went for Hajj some years back I was fortunate enough to sit with Mufti Abdul Kader Hoosen on a number of occasions. Some students of Madinah University (Deobandi background) would sit with him in al-Masjid al-Nabawi between Maghrib and 'Isha salat. They would ask him various 'ilmi questions. As one of the students was my cousin I also attended on a couple of occasions. It was wonderful. Mawlana is very learned . These types of gatherings ignite images of a time when al-Masjid al-Nabawi would've been full of study circles.
Im sure it must have been quite something
