I am in the same situation.. SubhanAllah, when Allah SWT wants to forgive, he has his ways to forgive his useless servant like me.

Wa Alaikum Asalaam Wr Wb, my brother we should all feel like low and useless slaves and we should prostrate our heads to the ground tonight in meekness and humility and ask of Allah to forgive us for our pathetic and shameful sins. We should also ask of him to accept our efforts and help us throughout the year.

Please also remember me in your duas tonight. May Allah accept your efforts and bring you closer to him and guide you to the straight path and make you the best of the good doers. Ameen
