Socially, Indonesia has more than 1100 ethnics and tribes in Indonesia, with approx more than 750 different languages between the nation. Moslem population roughly cover up to 85% of total population with major tribes (like Java, Sunda, Padang, Banjar, Bugis, Lombok, Aceh) are mainly moslem. Differences with Malaysia, that Chinesse and Indiani are also present as their citizen of Malaysia, although Melayu (moslty moslem) is considered the main tribes there. Therefore,we can see several differences regarding social background of between countries. Economically, roughly, our Malaysian bothers are 'considered' have higher living standard than their fellow Indonesian. And in general, political situation between two countries is rather 'volatile' tough still in good shape, mainly caused by theme of workers from Indonesia, border between two countries issue.

Comparing to Turkey ? dunno... maybe others can add more info.
