I really enjoy the oft-used adjective, so-called. Such an easy way to apply irreverence to any particular statement. For example, I support the rights of so-called people to exercise their freedom of so-called speech. See what I did there? Now please continue with the so-called discussion.
My favourite is 'technically', which can be used to justify anything and even conveys the speaker with a certain intelligence, as it suggests he or she knows something that we don't.

"Technically, Hitler saved the human race a lot of trouble."

"Technically, Mickey Mouse was the first black porn star."

"White is black, technically speaking."

If anyone questions this, you simply reply: "I wouldn't want to bore you with the details, but you know as well as I do that the so-called 'facts' people think they know aren't always true."
