If whites refrain from using it, why won't Latinos think twice before using it? The word should only be reserved for blacks to be used among ourselves as a means of endearment. Latinos don't consider themselves and blacks as a monolithic unit, so why should they get away with using it? I find it very contradictive how non-black groups have a sense of superiority to blacks yet adopt black music, culture, and slang.
