I thought WP would have had reasonable pull through the gates at Claremont Oval, but even they failed miserably. Claremont just dont have the following... period. The Grand Final last year proved that as it was 90% Swans. Last years opening weekend of the finals had well over double what they had yesterday.... Why? The WAFL and every club should be working together this off-season and try and find a marketing angle or anything that will get a better response from the public. Going it alone with individual clubs doing the odd radio advert does nothing. This has got to be an across the board approach and should have been done years ago. We are now seeing the results of half-cocked approaches. It is an absolute disgrace across the board. All heads must come together on this one. Its much better than going it alone.

If it is a Claremont v Subiaco Grand Final this year, the WAFL should seriously consider playing the game at a suburban ground. They wont get anywhere near 20,000 and dont believe the final figure either. I have no doubt that is propped up a bit when crap attendances occure.

And where were the South supporters too ?? They made a better effort getting the the last home & away game than they did to the 1st-Semi. How deflating must it have been for their players running out there to what looked like a home & away crowd. No suprise they got smashed.

All round it was a bad portrayal of our great comp, and nothing ever seems to be happening in terms of promotion. What have they done with the $500,000 given to them by AAMI ?? Certainly none of it has gone into promoting their own competition. But I just dont think anyone cares down there. If they did it wouldnt have come to this garbage.
