I'm guessing you're describing metro markets. That's one distinct advantage to living in a rural area. Very few of the employees will cop a attitude in rural grocery stores. (usually applies to other rural stores as well)

They know if they do they'll be out the door after only one, or two incidents of "showing their ass" since customers aren't as prolific as they are in metro areas.
Yes. Just moved out of rural and attempting to get used to the 'metro' side of things. Not acclimating well, but decided this morning I'll just have to plan better and drive a longer distance.

It'll be worth it. These 'conveniences' are anything but.
