Has protesting become the new pastime?
Years ago, people found all sorts of ways to bide their time. They went to the movies, they went out to dinner, they went to a ball game, they spent time with their family, they went shopping... Nowadays, all you hear people talking about doing is going somewhere to protest, riot or generally do something to disturb the general public. The whole Occupy movement is further eating away at our already decaying society. So many people feel like all they wanna do is shout anti-capitalist remarks, smoke dope, mingle with minorites, play the bongos and recite their self-written, Marxist poetry. It's like the fucking '60s all over again. A long time ago, when I read up on the whole protest movement going on at that time, I said to myself "Thank God we have moved on from those dark days." Sure, the drugs remained, but there was nothing for idiot leftists to get a face full of pepper spray over. Unfortunately, we have now returned to that turbulent period and we find ourselves in the same leaky boat once again. Only this time, these assholes have the power of digital technology to spread their cause even further, making it some sort of commodity. And our corrupt mass media is advocating such a thing. It's fucking disgusting. These fuckers need to realize that protesting is not going to get them anywhere other than mace in their eyes and a night in the pokey.
