Yes, there are a lot of guys just like him.

And yes, they'll use all the influence they can bring to bear, including bribes, kick backs, pay offs, threats, lies, blackmail, etc........to gain more money.

As bad as it sounds those are traits that are oftentimes shared by those at the very top. That is why the upper end of the food chain is chock full of sociopaths.
