I trust the mob a hell of a lot more then the creditors and insurance companies. The mob cannot afford to be so passive aggressive and nefarious to do their sort of business. If anyone in the mob, even The Don, pulled half the shit credit card and insurance companies pull... they'd be wearing brand new cement shoes.

But probably only because their business is illegal. The mafia was every bit as rigged, and scumbag as legal companies were when they were able to work out in the open. All that honor code bullshit was just something to romanticize themselves and bust the chops of the lower end goons.
