The critical thinking issue is more accurately called "Magical Thinking"

It's kinda like how people on the right see a military solution to everything, and believe a salting of "western values" will "take hold" and displace thousands of years of culture and religion in the middle east overnight..

Or how liberals think the stupid things think think.. Which are FAR too numerous to list here..

Teaching people that reality itself is subjective will never end well.. Because men have an almost infinite capacity to rationalize things away.

Generally speaking: Incurious people fall victim to this.. They aren't interested in the truth for its own sake, and on its own merit as truth. A simple sound byte or some lame justification is all they need to settle the falsehood in their own minds so they can feel good about being wrong.
