Is the Congress directly accountable to the electorate, or are they appointed internally?

voting them out is the only way to "fire" them. Works every two years for the house, the senate is harder since they don't all come up at the same time.

How can those of us who do not live in the land of fruits and nuts fire pelosi and boxer?
