You're assuming that everyone who is poor is on food stamps. That's an inaccurate assumption. There's also the transportation issue which is a valid concern. Not everyone has a car or an extra $20 for cab fare. Also, what if the person works 8-5 and has no paid time off to get an ID made up?
Believe me the majority of people who are that poor do in fact collect food stamps. We're at an all time high for the amount of families collecting them.
Also, most states give out free ID cards now or at a dramatically reduced price.
As for the job....YOU HAVE TO SHOW A VALID PHOTO ID IN ORDER TO BE LEGALLY EMPLOYED. Have you ever heard of the I-9 form?

There is NO excuse for anyone not to have a valid photo ID. Period.

Most DMV's have one day where they are open later to accommodate those who need their services and work Mon-Fri 8-5.

You're all out of excuses now.....
