American political leadership need some basics?
I was thinking about the political arena in the sense of the current day and felt that I came to a sad conclusion. I see political battles raging for the next seat in the white house and I am only realizing more and more why the person in power is really important. when we as americans have a leader unable or unwilling to get the progress our nation needs to occur the country continues to fail. With this idea then comes the problem. What happened to make this cycle begin only to continue for all this time and only get worse.
when it comes down to it. why is it that our political leaders have to win our vote based off of the idea of what change they can bring to our trouble times. Win our vote to REFORM the country that we live in essentially, its crap.. our leaders should be telling us what they represent and how that position stands for what our country is supposed to represent, and yet we never hear how the leader we vote for is really a great leader that can preserve out freedoms, improve our country and maintain peace, and why? Because the cycle began where we no longer were able to have a free and peace loving nation.
This is a truly general idea in the big picture, but look at the example given in the novel "all quiet on the western front." it was said by a soldier in the trenches, to another soldier that the battles of one nation and another are between the two leaders, and should be fought between them not the citizens that become the willing and able soldiers of their armies. sure that brings in the whole argument of war, but in context its saying that the battles of any sense are no longer left to discussion and are now left to become a showing of who has the bigger stick (army).
the concept of brevity being wit in so many ways applies to this. our nation should not require candidates that reach the bigger or more important masses, because in the basic principal as a nation of free individuals, rich or poor, republican, democrat or liberal, we should be talking more about what reaches the concepts of the nations constitution and what it represents.
I know this thought only stems from a desire to stop hearing about who will make life better for me or my family because of this or that... I want whats better for the nation in general. our country is no longer just the USA. we are a part of a global entity now. There are far to many people in this country and this world to see a need for a leader only fit to meet the needs of bigger group in the homeland.. What I see in this is a need for a leader that can stand for america and its principals, the constitution, and lead us into better days here in the US, and also in the world..
