this entire election has the feel of a bad high school play. It's fucking terrible.. A terrible situation. Much more of this will end up creating a crisis of confidence. Make people (In this case, Primary voters.. Very passionate, informed people) question if the party can even promote suitable candidates anymore.

And I don't agree with the pundits that guys like Jeb, Mitch Daniels or Christie would have had much of an impact..

Daniels and Christie are good on labor and reasonably responsible fiscally.. But beyond that they're mostly polished up liberals.

I read yesterday that Daniels wants a statewide smoking ban before the Superbowl, because he's ashamed of smokers and doesn't want outsiders to think his state is backwards. So his immediate response is to curtail personal liberty. Christie is a global warmer, and has made other comments that would definitely cause him problems in a general election.

Jeb was running around screaming about the irrelevance of Reagan till a couple days ago, when he decided Reagan's ideas were worth a second look.

None of these guys would have helped a thing.. The problem is establishment gatekeepers within the structure of the party itself..
