Even IF (and it's a HUGE if), Ron Paul gets in........you think he's going to CHOP down entire departments in the federal government? Don't kid yourself......If he did...unemployment would shoot upwards of 20%.



Thanks for reminding people of this. Paul can say he's going to cut it all back, but then what? And the suppliers to these departments, not to mention the suppliers to the military plus all of the collateral people who benefit from the presence of the military and bases (local stores, restaurants, gas stations, etc.) will feel it, which will cause them to stop supporting their suppliers, and so on it will go. I can't believe anything thinks that's a solution to the problem.

What we need to do is shrink the government by attrition, make the private sector larger and more powerful, put as much back in the hands of the states as possible, and cut entitlements and spending. Obama won't do any of that.
