This is a bigger issue than just debt. It has profound political ramifications.

How can SS ever be ended in the era of low interest rates?

If people can't earn a return, how can they save their own money and retire?

If they DO save their own money for retirement, what keeps the fed knuckleheads from inflating their savings right out from under them? Leaving them, for all practical intents and purposes, penniless.. Even though they have hundreds of thousands saved?
